Senior Technical Consultant - Job Description
A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Technical Consultant to join a growing team and gain exposure to a vast range of technologies and business issues. You’ll be actively encouraged to rapidly develop your areas of subject matter expertise and to provide client facing consultancy services in a supportive team oriented environment. Your career will progress at a pace limited only by your own capabilities, and you’ll be rewarded directly for your contribution.

  • You might be involved in the design and implementation of sophisticated infrastructure solutions or providing consultancy for disaster recovery, business continuity planning or security, depending on your chosen areas of interest and levels of knowledge
  • You must have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a technical role, ideally working in a project driven environment (not necessarily providing consultancy)

  • Ability to master complex new subjects quickly
  • Listening Skills and Empathy – you must have a talent for getting to the bottom of what the real issue is and unearth important details
  • Strong Problem Solving
  • Communication & team skills – you’ll be a comfortable and confident communicator with an active interest in sharing your knowledge and helping others. You’ll be comfortable presenting on your areas of expertise to a wide range of audiences
  • Customer service orientation – an instinctive understanding of the needs of your customers and pride in always delivering to a high standard
  • Strong documentation and report writing skills

Technical Knowledge
Good understanding of a broad base of IT infrastructure concepts with specialist knowledge and accreditations in several of the following:

  • Networking technologies (particularly Cisco to CCNA/CCNP level)
  • Security technologies and solutions
  • Virtualisation Technology (VMware VCP)
  • Storage Technology
  • Key Microsoft server roles (AD, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, System Centre) MCSE/MCITP Enterprise Admin required
  • Linux
