ISO 9001 proves Waterstons' customer commitment

Waterstons have always ensured that quality and customer satisfaction are at the forefront of all projects. This has now been officially recognised as, following rigorous external auditing, Waterstons became ISO9001:2008 certified.  ISO9001 is the world’s most established quality framework, and sets the standard for quality management systems.
The requirements for ISO9001 include:

  • A set of procedures that cover all key processes in the business.
  • Monitoring processes to ensure they are effective.
  • Keeping adequate records.
  • Checking output for defects, with appropriate and corrective action where necessary.
  • Regularly reviewing individual processes and the quality system itself for effectiveness.

In order to achieve ISO9001 status Waterstons were required to develop a quality management system which defines all company processes in a consistent way and provides a framework to measure and improve upon what we do. Evidence was provided that all processes are formally documented and all members of staff are aware of the company’s standards and procedures.

Michael Stirrup, Executive Consultant at Waterstons who led the preparation for the audit said “We have always strived to complete projects on schedule and within budget but achieving the ISO9001 in such a short period of time has reinforced the high standard of work we produce. Waterstons hope that complying with the ISO9001 standards will lead to improved service levels and satisfaction for our clients.”
