My role at Waterstons is...

Helping organisations improve. As a business consultant, no two days are quite the same - which I love! One day I can be helping a client identify opportunities to boost their sales by improving their customer experience journey, and the next day leading a board through how their IT Enterprise Architecture model impacts their growth plans and the following week supporting a client through a major change programme, such as a merger or acquisition. Understanding problems at a deep level, challenging clients to think big and delivering change is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

My proudest Waterstons moment is...

Supporting a large pan European distribution company located all over the continent as they were spun out from their parent company to form a separate entity during Covid-19. Like many mergers and acquisitions, it was a technical and political complex project with a short deadline. As the application architect for the carve-out, we managed to separate all the IT infrastructure within the agreed transition period, while delivering improvements to the services. The entire project was done during a global pandemic, completely remote, without meeting the client in person once.

My life away from work is...

About serving the local community. As a family, we decided to settle in Durham to serve our local church, Kings Church Durham, to support the local community and see change in a city we love and have come to call home. As a husband, dad of three young children, owner of Rhubarb (dog) and Custard (cat), life can sometimes be full-on, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I’ll be with you when...

You want to use technology to drive performance and see growth but you're not sure what needs to be done.
