2020 proved to be a year of two halves for the M&A industry in the UK. Both deal value and volume decreased substantially in the first half of the year in line with the Covid-19 outbreak. The second half of the year saw transaction volume and value recover somewhat, albeit cautiously.
Throughout the ups and downs of the Covid-19 pandemic the Waterstons M&A team partnered remotely with dealmakers and investors to reduce technology risks and drive real deal value, underpinned by technological excellence. A handful of them are seen below:
At Waterstons we have a specialised team of M&A consultants who provide technology driven advisory services spanning the entire deal cycle; from due diligence, implementation planning and execution right the way through to post deal support. Throughout 2020 and the start of 2021, we have partnered with a broad range of dealmakers, investors, and different sized businesses, across an array of sectors; helping them overcome the challenges and realise the opportunities in their deals.
The second half of last year’s market recovery has given dealmakers, investors, and businesses enough confidence to be cautiously optimistic about M&A in 2021. One thing for certain is should you need us, Waterstons will be here to partner with you and ensure your deal generates real deal value driven by technological excellence.
