About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Information Security Consultant to join our growing Cyber team and help shape the company’s security and compliance services nationwide. The role will involve being a true consultant, supporting our clients and often working with them on site to deliver solutions.
You’ll have demonstrable industry experience in a similar senior role or be ready to take the next step in your career. With a passion for continuous improvement, you will be a proactive, self starter and have the confidence to lead on decision making. We are looking for the right person so your passion for working collaboratively with clients and problem solving is just as important as technical skills and knowledge.
The role will involve the delivery of information security and compliance projects and providing mentoring and support to junior team members to raise the skills and service offerings of the team. You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with clients and prospects, acting as their trusted advisor to provide them with unrivalled advice and solutions, demonstrating how the company’s Cyber team can add value to their business.
Working with the Cyber team, you will deliver projects including information security strategy, data protection consultancy and assessments against frameworks such as ISO 27001:2013 and Cyber Essentials. You will also develop your knowledge to help you stay ahead of the latest information security and data protection best practice, to provide clients with the best advice. The successful candidate will need a driving licence due to the requirement to visit clients throughout the UK; and there is also the potential for international travel.
Skills & Experience
We’re looking a people person with excellent communication skills. We hope you’ll be comfortable networking and sharing knowledge at public seminars but if you haven’t done this before and are keen to develop, we can help you with this. You’ll be pragmatic and solutions driven with a passion for customer service and working in partnership with clients.
This role requires someone with a solid understanding of risk management and information security governance as well as experience of implementing and maintaining ISO 27001:2013 compliant management systems. We’re also interested to speak to you if you have experience or skills in the following areas;
- Proficient understanding of Data Protection law
- Wider technical knowledge of information security standards and best practice including Cyber essentials and ISO 27001:2013
- Drafting security policies and procedures advantageous but not essential
- Designing and delivering user training and awareness programmes
- Writing thought leadership articles relating to information security best practice beneficial
- Certifications ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, CISSP, CISM & CISA advantageous but not essential
- Attention to detail and an analytical approach
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
