We're hiring

Senior Technology Consultant

£34-45k (DOE) + benefits

About the role

We’re looking for a self-starter with a passion for Infrastructure Technology and a broad exposure to Microsoft and/or Cloud Technologies. Ideally we’re looking for a Generalist; someone who has experience and knowledge across several technology areas (e.g. Network, Messaging, Servers/Storage, EUC), but also has a keen interest or track record in a specific technology area (e.g Cloud).

Our company values are imperative to us, and these will come naturally to you. Our consultants work as part of project teams on complex implementations, as well as individually on simpler solutions so adaptability to work alone or as part of a team is something you'll be comfortable with.

While many of our customers have technical stakeholders, who can understand technical language, many customers do not. You must be able to walk through a technical solution with a non-technical stakeholder, demonstrating how the proposed solution meets the business requirements.

About you

We’re looking for the right person, not just a specific background. Your passion for technology and problem solving is just as important as technical skills and knowledge.

You’ll build strong relationships with prospective and active customers across the business and act as their trusted advisor; helping them to improve their business through the pragmatic use of technology.

You will have hands-on consultancy experience and have worked on projects that involve the design and implementation of solutions that use public, private and hybrid infrastructures. The role involves gathering requirements from clients and prospects, proposal writing, technical design and implementation, documentation and handover. Stakeholder management is a key aspect of this role and so therefore you'll be used to conversing with people of various levels within organisations from varying sectors.

When working with our clients you'll be able to understand their challenges, offer pragmatic solutions that focus on adding value in each interaction, with the ability to propose a sound business case for investment.

Some of the technical knowledge we feel you need to have is as follows:

  • Understanding of a broad base of IT infrastructure including Microsoft Server technologies (e.g. Active Directory), O365, networking and virtualisation, End User Computing.
  • Experience of producing technical documentation and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of Windows architecture/deployments

In addition to this, you may also have experience in the following technical knowledge, but this is not essential:

  • Amazon AWS Solutions Architect Associate level or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate accreditation
  • Manage the delivery of a complex project independently, ensuring all milestones are met and stakeholders are kept informed of progress

  • Office 365 - Experience of / exposure to a number of the following:

  • Azure AD

  • Windows 10

  • EUC (SCCM, Intune, MDT, MDM, Autpilot etc)

  • Skype / Teams

  • Virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V)

  • Networking

  • Storage

  • Authentication

  • Security

Your progression is important to us and your career path is up to you. You could follow a service management, technology specialist or even business consulting direction. We quickly reward those who perform well. Continuous personal and professional development are also important to us, so you will be supported, guided and mentored every step of the way. You’ll not only continually develop and learn new skills, but will guide and mentor others too.
