Andrew Barnes

Software Consultant

Life before Waterstons

Prior to joining Waterstons in 2020 as a Software Consultant, I studied Computer Science at Northumbria University. It was during that time where I first met the Waterstons team and was fascinated with their values and customer focused approach to business. Fortunately, I was offered the opportunity to spend a year on an industrial placement as a Software Consultant in July 2018. I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year with Waterstons and as a result, I was offered a position upon my graduation.

Life at Waterstons

As a Software Consultant at Waterstons, I work with clients to solve problems and create solutions. This involves meeting with clients, discussing their requirements and then producing quality work. I have worked on a range of projects covering a variety of technologies and sectors which has allowed me to get involved at every stage of the development process. I have also implemented different technologies depending on specific client requirements. During this time, I have been fortunate to work with colleagues across all departments within Waterstons.

Life outside of Waterstons

When I’m not at work, you’ll likely find me creating and playing music. I enjoy composing music and can be regularly found jamming with friends. I enjoy learning about new technologies and can often be found tinkering with or upgrading my PC. I like to organise road trips and have recently toured around Ireland and Croatia. I am also enthusiastic about video games and cars.
