Billy Ward

Bespoke Consultant

Having studied both English Literature and Theatre Studies at A Level, it may seem surprising that I have ended up working in the computer industry. Admittedly, I also studied Mathematics which allowed me to pursue a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Reading, recently joining Waterstons for my placement year.

My interest in computers stemmed from my father and numerous memories playing on the PlayStation 2 with him as a child. Although I was very interested in technology, it hadn’t occurred to me I could follow a career in it. An unusual mixture of interests, I used my love for the arts and computers as an advantage and applied to be a Bespoke Consultant at Waterstons. Whilst here, I hope to fuel these contrasting passions through developing custom software for our clients, building trusted relationships with them and working effectively within the Waterstons team.

Outside of work..

When I’m not working I enjoy keeping fit and cooking, in particular Japanese cuisine. I’ve recently started playing guitar again in preparation to audition for the Waterstons band, I can only dream they’ll let me join. I also seem to pick up new hobbies by the week. I am currently teaching myself to draw and attempting to become a whisky connoisseur.
