Dan O'Hara

Executive Technology Consultant Cloud Practice Lead

I have worked in IT since I left school and became an IT apprentice. Not the usual route into the working world at the time but I knew exactly what I wanted to do and I wanted to get started straight away.

Since then I have worked for all types of companies, of varying sizes and have worked on some great projects; some big, some small. My main areas of expertise focus on cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Office 365.

I joined the Waterstons team in 2016 after working as the IT Infrastructure Manager for a large Further Education college in my home town of Lincoln. My interview experience was very different and at that point I knew Waterstons was a company I wanted to work for. Since joining the team in our London office, I have been able to work with some great clients. Working in a collaborative way to implement and improve the way technology works for a business is very rewarding.

When I’m not in the office

Living in London is a lot of fun, there is always something different to do every weekend so I tend to go out and explore a lot. I also tend to go to the gym often, but that is mainly to get my money’s worth – they’re so expensive round here!

I have a passion for software development, so as a hobby I like to learn to code. Right now, I am learning Angular, React and all those other libraries that keep popping up. I hope to start developing some apps to do things that I would find useful, but maybe others will too – watch this space.

I also tweet a lot about Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and Amazon Web Services so, if you haven't already give me a follow and say hi! @danoharatweets
