Oliver Gillin

Technology Consultant

Contrary to most of the Waterston’s team, I come from a less IT based background having studied Mathematics at the University of Reading. Although not studying IT at University or A levels I have always taken a keen interest in technology and how it’s shaping the current generation in an ever-growing technological climate.

Precedent to joining the Waterstons team I worked in ASDA for several years whilst at school and university. This gave me the social skills and exposure to a range of customers only building on my ability to help people in their time of need (even if it was to just show them where the baked beans are!).

Growing up I have always had a very “hands on” technique of problem solving which is perfectly suited to my role as Technology Consultant here at Waterstons. From replacing my phones smashed screens (a lot more times than I’m happy to admit) to taking apart my PS4 and controllers – I love the challenge and reward that comes with dismantling and rebuilding items.

Outside of Waterstons I have a passion for pretty much any and every sport with the main being Rugby! I love to play and have since the age of 6 (barring injuries recently). I also enjoy watching too and even have season tickets with my dad for the mighty Harlequins whose stadium is right next to Twickenham where I have visited countless times to watch England play.
