Samad Choudhury

Senior Technology Consultant

I have always had an interest in computers which has mainly stemmed from my love of computer games as a child. Although, through college, I was convinced I would be working in the finance industry so pursued economics and accounts. I found that I had no passion for those subjects and chose computer science as a degree not realising where it would take me. It was during my sandwich year that I fell in love with the world of networking and IT support. Mainly the satisfaction of solving a problem or watching hundreds of people use systems every day that I have designed and configured.

After graduation I worked as an IT manager for an academy which was a role I enjoyed immensely. I managed to gain valuable experience in developing efficient and robust network design. Providing the facilities and services used by teachers and pupils on a daily basis was both challenging but satisfying at the same time.

I joined Waterstons after nearly 16 years at my previous post. It was a major decision both personally and professionally to move on but I felt I was ready for a change. As I write this I am two months into my role as a consultant working in the London area. It’s been challenging and rewarding in equal measure and long may that continue.

Outside of work I spend as much time as possible with my wife and two daughters. I enjoy travelling and as a family we’ve been to many destinations around the world. When I do get some time to myself it’s spent watching sports, mainly football or combat sports. I’m a mad Liverpool supporter so it’s vital that they win something soon as my mood depends on it.
