Ben Andress

Technology Consultant

I have recently been lucky enough to join Waterstons without any professional IT experience, before joining I spent most of my time in the customer service sector for Transport for London and my local council. Prior to that I studied IT at college gaining a BND qualification (do they even have them anymore?) I've always been interested in technology and messed around with my own computer whether it's installing new hardware or just finding out different ways to do things, I've also enjoyed helping out friends and family with any problems they have with any type of device.

I wanted to join Waterstons because of the company values and the way they take a big interest in development, I've always wanted to get in to IT as a profession and after meeting some of the guys at an assessment day and having a chat over the phone it seemed like a great company to work for and something I wanted to be a part of. I’m working for the Managed Services team as a Technology Consultant and really enjoying my time here and learnt so much in a short space of time. Everyone here is welcoming and always ready to give some advice or lend a hand when need be.

Outside of work I play football a couple of times a week, go out for social drinks or just stay at home playing FIFA. In the summer I play tennis when I can although not being very good it’s fun to play. I have a passion for travelling and have just finished a 7 month trip to South America where I went alone but met some amazing people from all over the world along the way.
