Bob Morrow

Non-Executive Director

After graduating in chemistry from Glasgow University I spent almost ten years in the paint industry in the southeast as a development chemist and later development laboratory manager. I then joined the commercial section of the Tioxide Group, one of the world’s major producers of titanium pigments. It was this that brought me to the northeast although I also worked in London and travelled extensively around the world. I held roles as Group Sales Manager, Group Marketing Manager and International Operations Planning Manager.

It was through Tioxide that I met Mike and Sally Waterston. After leaving Tioxide and a short time running my own marketing consultancy, I joined Waterstons to help grow the business. After I retired as Marketing Director in 2004, I continued to provide business development support and was delighted to be invited to re-join the board as a non-executive director.

In addition to my work responsibilities, I was a governor of Darlington College for ten years and a trustee and, for six years, chairman, of Abbeyfield (Darlington) Limited, a retirement home charity. I am a member of Darlington Rotary.

My current interests include family (two sons and two grandchildren), travel, walking, golf, snooker, music (I play banjo occasionally with a small folk group; there are those who wouldn’t call that music!) and writing (mainly crime and fantasy!).
