Chris Anderson

Senior Technology Consultant

I have worked in IT since leaving school, with a career spanning both the military and civilian sectors. I took the IT apprenticeship route into the industry before joining the Royal Air Force as an ICT technician. I worked in a variety of roles ranging from service desk to 2nd/3rd line support, providing and deploying communications to armed forces personal worldwide. This included maintaining the high availability of an aircraft mission system.

After eight years I decided to leave the RAF, and took up a position as an IT Infrastructure engineer. Here I was able transition back to 'civvy street' and work towards my career ambition – becoming an IT consultant. In autumn 2016, Waterstons gave me the opportunity to achieve this goal and I joined the Infrastructure Consulting team – I've not looked back since.

I relish working on IT projects to design and provide solutions to meet customer IT requirements, each one different and unique. I have particular interests in networking, virtualisation and storage; since joining Waterstons my experience and development in these technologies has been tenfold.

Outside of work I am kept busy with my three young children. I also enjoy keeping fit and playing rugby every week for Darlington RFC (as long as my body will permit me too).
