Edward Bowden

Technology Consultant

I joined Waterstons in July 2017 as a placement student working in the Managed Services team with clients in the South. I work mostly on-site providing support directly to businesses and end users ensuring that all IT systems work as smoothly and are as useful as possible.

Previously, I studied Computer Science at The University of Reading and worked for a small manufacturing company in the commercial vehicle sector as their IT and Office Manager. As anyone who experiences one knows, working in a small business you really get to know and often get involved in every part of it. I was home educated before going to college to study IT and managed to work in relevant roles throughout.

Outside of work I spend plenty more time using, tinkering with and breaking computers. I’m a director for a non-profit that organises the UKs largest festival for home educators which does keep me busy. It’s easy to assume organising a weeklong festival is as easy as hiring any old field until you actually start doing it!
