Originally joining in 2013 as a Software Developer, a year later I transitioned onto the Service Desk and then moved toward Information Security Consulting, where I’ve been ever since. During this time, I've had experience with a diverse range of technologies, industries and clients across the country, delivering a variety of both technical and non-technical projects with varying challenges along the way.
My experience so far
Originally working predominantly on a Microsoft stack delivering web application and SharePoint development projects, I transitioned into Managed Services support of a global client-base of infrastructure and systems. These mostly sat within Windows environments deployed upon Hyper-V or VMware virtualisation technologies. Shortly after I helped to deliver Waterstons' ISO 27001 implementation; championing key initiatives such as risk management, business engagement, internal training, policy creation and continual improvement.
Building on my security experience, I've since began Cyber Essentials Plus auditing and vulnerability assessments, and currently spend most of my time taking organisations through the Cyber Essentials journey. I'm also actively involved in developing our Information Security awareness and offerings.
What makes me tick
Having encountered such a colourful variety of technologies and challenges, my work here has given me the opportunity to experience and develop new hobbies and passions. It has nurtured a love for ‘people-first’ projects, and the warmth, intelligence and even humour of my colleagues continually motivates me to grow both as a consultant and a person. During this time I have pursued my interest in Information Security and Ethical Hacking, but have also pursued less technical interests such as bouldering, painting philosophy and craft beer brewing. So if you want to talk Hefeweizens and Nietzsche then give me a shout!
