Adam Usher

Apprentice Technology Consultant

I joined Waterstons in July 2019, fresh out of college, as an apprentice. Before all of that I studied IT & Software Development. I currently work in managed services on our service desk, supporting clients with their daily IT needs as well as solving more complex problems.

My love for technology started at a fairly young age, when a teacher in school asked the question ‘What do you want to be when you grow up’ my answer was always, an IT guy. When I was eight, I got my first Laptop as a Christmas present. A chunky Toshiba Satellite series machine that sounded like an aeroplane engine under load. As this hobby developed into a passion, I found myself getting into more complex things like learning how to program, command line Linux (Ubuntu being my favourite flavour) and ultimately how to fix things that I broke. Now here I am, putting it all into practice as my job.

Outside of work I have a few pastimes. I love to play PC games online with my friends (and sometimes kick back with a chill single player game) I also love to tinker with PC hardware and software and see what wacky and wonderful things I can make a computer do. I also make time for photography every now and then. In hindsight I probably own too much photography gear. Finally, I love to get in my car and go anywhere and everywhere, whether it be on my own or with friends I love to drive and discover new places.
