My Experience at Waterstons

I have always been interested in computer systems; as a kid I would take apart family gadgets and repair them (not always successfully mind you!). I would constantly annoy my school’s IT technicians with several Windows and Linux based problems, usually about an old laptop, but it meant I could learn a lot more about computers than I could in my lessons, which were centred around tutorials on how to create Word documents! I chose Waterstons because they provide fantastic opportunities for analysing problems, learning about systems, and progressing in my chosen career field.

I really enjoy interacting with clients on a day-to-day basis, getting to know exactly how they use IT in their business, and help guide them through any problems or service requests they might have. There'll always be unique and interesting problems that come through when based on a client site, providing ample opportunity to learn about the diverse nature of technology.

“Computers are like air conditioners. They work fine until you start opening windows.” – Bill McCollum

Outside of Work

Outside of work you can find me on the river or the rock; kayaking and rock climbing are my two main hobbies. Both have an aspect of analysis, problem solving and besides, it’s fun to throw yourself off a waterfall! At home you’ll find me at my desk, tinkering with PCs, laptops, gadgets, and anything that beeps, much to the annoyance of my girlfriend.
