Scott Gibson

Security Consultant

Before Waterstons, I just graduated with a master’s degree in computer and digital forensics from Northumbria University. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this degree over the last four years. Learning about the forensic analysis of computers, phones, smart devices and how to sift through all the data involved has been very interesting. I’ve learnt about so many other things during this course from various types of cyber security to mandarin, web development to basic programming and much more.

I’ve always been intrigued by technology and what it can do for us. I’ve been tinkering with computers and technology since I was little, I would often play with my Dad's old computers until he would finally give me one of his old ones as my own. Trying to understand what they can do and what they allow us to do with them has always been a big interest of mine.

Waterstons seems like an enjoyable place to work and most definitely has been so far, with a really friendly team of people. I feel like working with Waterstons will bring me a joyful day to day working experience. I am excited to be part of the team. The workplace ideals are fantastic, with us employees being put first to make the business thrive.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing badminton in my spare time. I’ve played for many teams over the years. I’ve represented my university, my county, my town and I've even represented the North West of England in the past. I hope to get back into it in the near future! I enjoy going to the gym along with this when I can.

I’m a competitive person so I honestly enjoy any type of game. I also enjoy online gaming, from computer games to PlayStation games. I find it a great way to unwind and to connect with my distant friends across the country.
